Panayiota "Betty" Diangikes, 88, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at her home. Born January 30, 1921, in Arahova, Karyae, Greece, she was the daughter of the late John Peter and Trisevgeni Kerhoulas Kopsiaftis and the wife of the late Athanasios "Tom" Diangikes. She was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Survivors include a son, Billy Diangikes and his wife Grier of Spartanburg; a daughter, Mary Angelakis and her husband Matthew of Spartanburg; two brothers, William J. "Bill" Copses and his wife Loula, and Peter J. Copses and his wife Voula, all of Spartanburg; two sisters, Dena Georgas of Spartanburg, and Eleni Kyriazi of Arahova, Greece; and six grandchildren, Tommy and Jessica Diangikes, Sia, Georgia, Pamela, and Tony Angelakis. She was predeceased by a sister, Demetra Siarris. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009, with a Trisagion Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m., at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church conducted by the Rev. George F. Nayfa. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
