Othell Plumley

Othell Plumley, 70, of 183-A Myrtle Avenue, died Thursday, August 13, 2009, at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care. Born June 5, 1939, in Greenville County, SC, he was the son of the late Brennie Plumley. He was an auto body repairman. Survivors include his wife, Joan Laster Plumley; three step-sons, Johnny L. Mathis, Sr. and Michael E. Mathis, Sr., both of Spartanburg, and Bruce W. Mathis of Shelby, NC; two step-daughters, Pamela Smithwick of Spartanburg, and Karen Smithwick of Mableton, GA; a brother, Russell Plumley of Spartanburg; 24 step-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2009, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. John Cox. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside.
