Otha Phillip Cudd, 62, of Spartanburg, passed away May 21, 2010. Born November 19, 1947, he fought a short but brave battle with Retroperitoneal Fibrosis. He was the son of the late Otha Preston Cudd, Jr. and Virginia Grace Bishop Cudd. His paternal grandparents were Otha Preston Cudd, Sr. Bertha Cudd Lloyd and Violet Render Cudd. His maternal grandparents were Lawrence Wynn Bishop and Lula James Bishop. Mr. Cudd had a strong love for his family and friends. He knew that Jesus Christ was his savior, and he was going home to be with him. A 1965 graduate of Spartanburg High School, he was a proud member of the Crimson Tide Football Team and the "Trojans". He graduated from the Baptist College of Charleston in 1970 with a Bachelor's degree in Business. After graduating from college, Mr. Cudd began his professional career in automobile sales. He dedicated his professional life serving customers in sales and management in the automobile industry, and was the owner of Proline Motors. Mr. Cudd is survived by daughters, Kristen Cudd Prutsman and Lindsey Ennis Cudd; grandsons, Gavin Neal Prutsman and Titus Phillip Cudd, all of Spartanburg; sisters, Bronwyn Cudd Caldwell (Malcom), and Phyllis Cudd Powers (Larry); nieces, Amy Loudermilk Hamrick, Erin Caldwell, Katie Powers, and Leigh Ann Powers, all of Spartanburg; and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday prior to the service in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. A strong caring man, Mr. Cudd enjoyed family, friends, and sports. He especially enjoyed time with his two daughters (Kristen and Lindsey) and his two precious grandsons (Gavin and Titus).
