Ophelia Williams Hamrick, 90, of Cowpens, died Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born March 24, 1921, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Joe A. Williams, Sr. and Annie Brumbalow Williams, and wife of the late Virgil P. Hamrick, Sr. Mrs. Hamrick was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and retired from Hamrick's Grocery. Survivors include her daughters, Letha Riddle of Spartanburg and Mary Hunt and husband James of Cowpens; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joe Williams, Jr. of LaGrange, GA. She was also predeceased by a son, Virgil P. Hamrick, Jr. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday, June 26, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, June 27, 2011, at Crossroads Baptist Church, by the Rev. David Swofford and the Rev. Dr. Michael Bradley. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will be at the home.
