Opal Garrett

Opal Pearson Garrett, 82, of Cowpens, SC, died Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Brookdale Skylyn. Born November 30, 1932, in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late James Earl and Lula Mae Fisher Pearson. She is also predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Paul Allison Garrett, Sr. and her son Paul A. Garrett, Jr. Mrs. Garrett was a member of Central Baptist Church of Cowpens and a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 153. She is survived by her sons, Terry Wayne Garrett (Jeanne) of Rutherfordton, NC; Jerry Blane Garrett (Sarah) of Spartanburg, SC; six grandchildren, Adah Garrett Richardson (Jeremy), Gregory Garrett (Amanda), Amanda Garrett Boyd (Shane), Christopher Garrett, Katie Garrett McKay (Matt), and Lauren Garrett Reeves (Joey); great grandchildren, Cole and Madison Boyd, Blane and Bradley Reeves, Awyn, Leah, Emma, and Ruby Richardson; Averi, Aidan, Lake and Ezra Garrett; sisters, Irene P. Scruggs of Chesnee, SC and Earline P. McDaniel of Converse, SC; and daughter-in-law, Valerie Miller Garrett. Visitation will be 1:00 - 1:45 PM Monday, November 23, 2015 at Central Baptist Church of Cowpens, 126 East Church Street, Cowpens, SC 29330. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the church, conducted by Dr. Jason Metcalf. Burial will be in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens, 175 Cemetery Street, Cowpens, SC 29330.
