Onie Shields

Onie Mae Shields, 95, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Magnolia Manor-Inman. Born June 9, 1918, in Cooley Springs, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jonas Sidney Robbins and Nancy Geneva Jolly Robbins and widow of George Ivan Shields. Mrs. Shields was a member of Grace Baptist Church, teacher of the Ruth and Naomi Sunday School Class, and also a member of the choir. Survivors include her children, Terry Shields of Shelby, NC, Dianne Vaughn of Parrish, FL, Janet Tisdale of Boiling Springs, SC, and Nancy McAbee of Greenville, SC; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sister, Ruby Cantrell of Spartanburg, SC. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 10, 2014, in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Thomas Bryant.
