Oneida Soler Floyd, 83, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, February 17, 2014, at Windsor House-Spartanburg. Born June 13, 1930, in Baire, Cuba, she was the daughter of the late Maximo Gomez Soler and Zeida Montero Soler. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mrs. Floyd loved her family dearly. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the John Nicholson Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, and a choir member who enjoyed singing solos. Survivors include her beloved husband of 63 years, Rev. Herbert C. Floyd Sr.; sons, H. Carl Floyd Jr. and his wife Nancy of Asheboro, NC, and Max Floyd and his wife Sonya of Boiling Springs, SC; daughters, Janis Floyd Grimes of Spartanburg, SC, and Judy Fowler and her husband Roland of Salisbury, NC; grandchildren, Sara Floyd, Natalie Floyd, Katie Floyd, Evan Floyd, Kristen Grimes, Brianne Lentz (Kevin), Kayla Justham (Eric), and Kelsey Bradshaw (Jarrett); great-grandchildren, Ellie Lentz, Mason Lentz, Addison Justham, and Parker Justham; brothers and sisters, Maximito Soler (Sulma) of Fort Myers, FL, Nivia Mursuli of Lugoff, SC, Jose Soler (Claris) of Lugoff, SC, and Chelo Young of Atlanta, GA. She was predeceased by a sister, Daisy Balbon. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Friday, February 21, 2014, at Trinity United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 626 Norwood St., Spartanburg, SC 29302. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Steve Holler. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, 4164 Boiling Springs Rd., Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
