Ona Lee Thompson Pitts, 91, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, July 30, 2017, at Windsor House West-Spartanburg. Born April 21, 1926, in Russell County, VA, she was the wife of the late Lauden Paul "L. P." Pitts. Mrs. Pitts was an active member of Central Church of Christ where she was a longtime Sunday School teacher. She volunteered for many years at Spartanburg Convalescent Center and was named Volunteer of the Year for South Carolina. Survivors include her children, Susan Glenn (George) of Moore, SC, Tricia Williams of Nashville, TN, David Pitts (Pam) of Boiling Springs, SC, Paul Pitts (Vicki) of Hohenwald, TN, and Timothy Pitts of Anderson, SC; 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Philip Pitts. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Lindsey Krinks. Burial will be in Westwood Memorial Gardens, 6101 Reidville Rd., Moore, SC 29369.
