Olsey Vernice Jackson Corn, 81, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, April 17, 2014, at White Oak Manor-Spartanburg. Born August 6, 1932, in Savannah Grand Caymen, she was the daughter of the late John Jackson Sr. and Vernice Thompson Jackson. Mrs. Corn received her nursing degree from Jackson School of Nursing in Miami, FL, and Bachelor of Science Degree from Limestone College. She was a nursing instructor for Daniel Morgan and Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church, the Shepherd Center Bridge Club, loved to travel, and was an avid golfer. Surviving is her husband of 59 years, James D. Corn, Sr.; son, James D. Corn, Jr. of Kings Mountain, NC; daughter, Jamie E. Corn of Tryon, NC; and brother, John H. Jackson of Fort Myers, FL. She was predeceased by a sister, Jewel Higginson. Visitation will be 12:00-12:45 PM on Monday, April 21, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
