Olin Mintz, Sr.

Olin "Pa" Dewitt Mintz, Sr., 77, of 151 Mintz Road, died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at his home. Born December 13, 1932 in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Roy V. and Lettie Hall Mintz. He retired from Spartanburg County Parks and Recreation after 21 years of service, was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Alpha Lorena Green Mintz; two daughters, Pam (Frank) Meeks of Cowpens and Debra Godfrey of Spartanburg; two sons, Tim (Sheila) Mintz of Inman and Olin (Susan) D. Mintz, Jr. of Cowpens; a sister, Gladys (John) Smith of Spartanburg; thirteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Jerry Dean Mintz. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday July 11, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 12, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Larry Holland and the Rev. John G. Smith.
