Olin Dewey Johnson

Olin Dewey Johnson, 94, of Waterloo, SC, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at his residence. Olin was born on December 25, 1930, in Spartanburg, SC, a son of the late Susie Elsie Dillard Johnson and Henry Carl Johnson. He was married to the late Jessie Fae Griffin Johnson for 52 years. 

Olin was a longtime member and was instrumental in the building of New Beginnings Baptist Church at Lake Greenwood. He retired from the City of Anaheim, California. Among his many interests and hobbies were off-roading and camping, working in his outdoor shop, repairing small engines and sharpening saws. 

Surviving is his daughter, Cindy Corcoran of Waterloo, SC; his grandson, Taylor Hegland (Jessica Jones) of Waterloo, SC; his granddaughter, Ellie Jones of Waterloo, SC; and his brother, Gene Johnson (Beverly) of Oklahoma. Olin was predeceased by five siblings, Lloyd Johnson, Nellie Bishop, Faye Scoggins, Regina Eaker and Dorothy Vice. 

The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm, conducted by Chaplain Kevin Garrison.
