Olean Stephens Hicks "Big Mama", 85, of Inman, SC, died Thursday, June 16, 2016. Born November 14, 1930, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Landrum and Beulah Cannon Stephens and widow of Thomas Wardlaw Hicks. She was a member of Peach Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, Tommy Hicks (Sherry) of Simpsonville, SC and Bo Hicks (Linda) of Inman, SC; daughter, Sandy Browning (Bill) of Boiling Springs, SC; grandchildren, Kelli Hicks, Thomas E. Hicks II, Mendy Bailey, Stephen Hicks, and Chandler Lundeen; great-grandchildren, Hannah DeGroat, Caleb DeGroat, Thomas E. Hicks III, Savannah Hicks, Suzette Bailey, and Bailey Guthrie; and brother, Charles Stephens of Roebuck, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Lundeen; four brothers; one sister; five half-brothers; and one half-sister. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 PM Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Chuck Thornton. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
