Norman L. Gasswint, II, 86, of Spartanburg, SC died Saturday, December 19, 2020 at home. Born July 6, 1934 in Harrisburg, PA he was the son of the late Minnie Miller and Norman Leroy Gasswint Sr. He was married to his late loving wife of 63 years, Loretta Bell Brooking Gasswint. Mr. Gasswint earned his Bachelor's degree from Lehigh University before serving in the U.S. Air Force, where he was based in Taipei, Taiwan for four years. After his service he became a Sales Engineer at Alcoa Conductor Accessories where he retired after 37 years of service. Norman was very active in the communities where he lived. Throughout his life, he volunteered at Fox Chapel Fire Department in Pennsylvania, served on many committees at Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, and had a love for Triumph sports cars. He enjoyed all sports, playing softball, tennis, and bowling, but his passion was golf. Additionally, he was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his son, Norman Scott Gasswint (Lisa Marie) of Pittsburgh, PA; and his daughter, Virginia Lynn Gasswint of Spartanburg, SC; granddaughter, Greta Marie Gasswint of Philadelphia, PA; and his loving white lab, Zola Bell Gasswint.
