Norma Jean "Chigger" Sanders, 56, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014. Born May 2, 1957, in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Edward Sanders and Annie Grace Thomas Hayes. She was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School. Miss Sanders is survived by her brothers, Will Sanders of Nebo, NC, Ronnie Sanders of Kernersville, NC, James Hayes of Gastonia, NC, Neal Hayes and David Hayes, of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Doris Heffner of Hamstead, NC, Lynn Hayes and Rita Gilbert of Spartanburg, SC; 19 nieces and nephews; 21 great-nieces and nephews; and 11 great-great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her twin sister, Naomi Jane Sanders; sister, June Hayes Crowe; and brothers, Bruce Sanders, George Hayes, Charles Hayes, Floyd Hayes, and Broadus Hayes. Visitation will be 3:30-4:45 PM Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Sammy Sutton. A private burial will be in Cleveland First Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303; or the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615. The family is at the home of her brother, David Hayes, 13 Northstar Street, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
