Norma Pence Mabry "MeeMaw" 87, went to be with Jesus on September 8th, 2024 after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Guy Ernest Pence, Sr. and Amanda Johnson Hendrickson.

Norma was born in Lake Toxaway, N.C. in 1936 but moved to Spartanburg as a young child. She graduated from Roebuck High School in 1954. She was a beloved wife, mother, and MeeMaw. She married Billy Harvey Mabry in 1956 until he went to be with the Lord in 1979. Her legacy will remain one of faith and family as she always put the Lord and her children first.

Left to cherish her memories are her children; Teresa Torrence, Diane Lestage (Todd) and Billy Mabry II (Keely). Her grandchildren; Shannon Stanley (Matt), Jeramie Torrence, Christina McCarthy (Clark), Shane Torrence, and Stephanie Rogers (Lee). Her Great Grandchildren; Rachelle, Judah, Mabry, and Talan.

Norma was predeceased by her brother, Guy Ernest Pence, Jr., and half sister, Mildred Pence Tolley.

Norma was a member of Ben Avon Baptist Church. She loved Jesus, reading the Bible and writing down the scripture. Her favorite verse was Psalm 19:14. She lived her life as a Proverbs 31 wife and mother. She enjoyed being a homemaker and cooked many delicious meals.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Hospice and to her primary nurse, Kayla. A special thank you to Rachael for caring and loving mother in her last days.

A private service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens officiated by The Rev. Dr. James C. Hilton. A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date in November.
