Norma Mason

November 5, 1922 — January 15, 2013

Norma Alexander Mason, 90, of Fairforest, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born November 5, 1922, in Fairforest, SC, she was the widow of Cecil Edwin Mason and daughter of the late Melvin Martindale and Mattie Gentry Alexander. Mrs. Mason was a member of Fairforest Baptist Church, the Women's Missionary Union (WMU), Young At Heart, a former Sunday School teacher and choir member. She was retired from the SC Unemployment Commission. Survivors include her son, Ed Mason (Jan) of Spartanburg, SC; daughters, Pat Williams (Larry) and Dale Willis (Fred), all of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren, Angela Williams Quinn (Tony) of Charlotte, NC, Jennifer Williams Reynolds (Jason) of Barnegat, NJ, Russ Mason (Beth) of Spartanburg, SC, Emily Mason Turner (Allen) of Greenwood, SC, Jessica Willis Jones (Aaron) of Fort Mill, SC, and Allison Willis Pogalz (Steve) of Fort Mill, SC; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gentry Alexander and M. M. Alexander Jr., both of Fairforest, SC; and a sister, Mildred Davis of Fairforest, SC. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Alexander. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, January 18, 2013, at Fairforest Baptist Church, by the Rev. Jay Alexander and the Rev. Don Greene. Visitation will follow at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Fairforest Baptist Church, PO Box 338, Fairforest, SC 29336. The family is at the home of Jan and Ed Mason, 801 Shoresbrook Drive, Spartanburg, SC.
