Norma Jean Hood Gossett, 65 of Cowpens, died Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Spartanburg Medical Center. A native of Spartanburg, she was born on October 13, 1959, a daughter of James Eugene Hood, Sr. and the late Louvenia Emory Hood and the wife of the late Robbie Edward Gossett.  

She was a 1977 graduate of Spartanburg High School, a former employee of S and S Manufacturing Company and Chartwell Food Services. She was a member of Northview Baptist Church and loved fishing, camping, working in her flowers and helping others. 

Surviving is her son, Charles Edward Gossett; brother, James E. Hood, Jr. (Melody); nieces and nephews, Robert Wood, Anthony Hood, Jamie Hood, Stephanie Williams; great nephews, Ashton Fortner, Wyatt Williams; great niece, Zoe Williams; a special friend and companion, Horace Skates. 

A visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 12:45 pm on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm in the chapel conducted by the Rev. Monte Guffey. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Norma Gossett Funeral Fund, 235 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
