Nina Fisher

Nina Mae Jones Fisher, 100, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Widow of August Fisher, she was born August 29, 1912, in Eastman, GA, to the late Monroe Martin Jones and Alma Ruth Nixon Jones of Cramerton, NC and Eastman, GA. Mrs. Fisher loved caring for her family and enjoyed cooking and crafts. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of Eastern Star #184 in Cramerton, NC. Surviving are her granddaughter's husband, Steve Anton and two great-grandchildren, Taylor Webster and Nathan Anton of Michigan; a brother, Charles Jackson Jones (Jenny) of Jamestown, NC; a sister, Ethel Metz of Spartanburg, SC; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Donald Fisher; granddaughter, Traci Anton; brother, Bill Jones; and sister, Blanche Cain. The family will receive friends 10:00-10:45 AM Monday, July 8, 2013, at St. John's Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. Funeral services will follow at 11:00, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Michael Shackelford. Burial will be at 3:00 PM Monday, July 8, 2013, in Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 S. New Hope Rd., Gastonia, NC 28054. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 415 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family is at the home.
