Nell Mcpherson

Nell Foster McPherson, 100, of Spartanburg, died on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Emeritus at Skylyn Place. Born September 15, 1912, in Spartanburg, she was the widow of William S. McPherson and daughter of the late Landrum Furman and Selena Ravan Foster. Mrs. McPherson retired from nursing for Spartanburg General Hospital and Fremont School. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg and received a lifetime membership from Presbyterian Women of the church. Surviving are her sister, Fay Foster Tillotson of Spartanburg; nieces and nephews, Bruce Tillotson (Kaye), Larry Stamper (Jackie), Carolyn Stamper Kent, Margaret Ann Stamper, Mary Sue Floyd Poole (Charles), Sybil Foster Lytle (Paul), Shirley Foster Lunsford (John), and Edna Earl Foster Hammond; and sister-in-law, Betty Turner Foster. She was predeceased by and infant daughter, Sandra Faye McPherson; six sisters; and two brothers. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 28, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Steven H. Rhodes. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at 104 Foxcross Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301, following the services.
