Nathaniel Pitcher

Nathaniel "Babe" Pitcher, 79, of 111 Farmer Road, Pauline died Monday, July 19, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born December 5, 1930 in Brookfield, CT, he was the son of the late Edward and Rose Madden Pitcher. He was a life long resident of Brookfield, CT and the retired owner of Pitcher's Well Drilling and was a former employee with the New Milford School System in New Milford, CT. Upon his retirement in 2004, he and his wife moved to Pauline. He was founder and a member of the Brookfield Sportsman Club and a member of the National Rifle Association, an avid fisherman, hunter and loved the outdoors, NASCAR, and loved to tinker in his barn. He was a S/Sgt in the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Pike Pitcher; a daughter, Laura Murray and companion, John Graham of Pauline; son, Scott Pitcher and wife Dawn of New Milford, CT; three step-daughters, Jennifer Albright and husband David, Laurie Grey and husband Gregory all of New Milford, CT,, and Deborah Gasper and husband Alex of New Fairfield, CT; and eight grandchildren, Sarah and Hannah Albright, Tyler, Ryan and Abigail Grey, Matthew and Joseph Gasper, Scott Pitcher II; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. B. E. Pettit. Visitation will follow the service.
