Naomi Wood

Naomi Allen Wood, 91, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at White Oak Estates. Born March 30, 1921, in Spartanburg, she was the widow of Jesse L. "Smoky" Wood Jr. and daughter of the late James Mitchell and Mary Alice Crocker Allen. Mrs. Wood was a 1938 graduate of Spartanburg High School, also a graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College, and she was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. Surviving are her sons, Jesse L. "Smoky" Wood III and wife Ann Dickerson Wood of Charlotte, NC, and Perry Allen Wood and wife Yaneth Wood of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Jesse Dylan Wood and wife Haidee "Dee" Martin Wood, Rachel Mae Wood Pickering and husband Keith "Pete" Pickering, Margaret Susan Wood; Allen Jake Wood, and Hannah Naomi Wood; great-grandchildren, Katherine Carter Wood, Caroline Lillian Wood, and Johanna Harper Pickering. Visitation will be 2:30-3:30 PM Friday, September 21, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 PM, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H.
