Nannie Casey

Nannie McArthur Casey, 89, of Glenn Springs, died Friday, December 14, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born May 22, 1923, in Glenn Springs, she was a daughter of the late William Ellis and Ruby Estelle West McArthur and widow of Julian P. Casey. She was a former employee of Raycord and retired from the Pauline-Glenn Springs Elementary School cafeteria. Mrs. Casey was a member of Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church and the Sunshine Sunday school class and enjoyed cooking for the third Sunday lunch. Survivors include two grandsons, Jeff Casey (Michelle) of Glenn Springs and Chris Casey (Christy) of Union; five great-grandchildren, Chelsea Casey, Morgan Casey, MaKensley Casey, Jacob Casey, and Kalyn Casey; daughter-in-law, Carol Casey Knox of Union; brother, James "Curly" McArthur of Glenn Springs. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Ellis Casey; brothers, Earl McArthur, Joe McArthur, and Julian "June Bug" McArthur; sister, Elsie Taylor. Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Dr. B. E. Pettit and Mr. Kevin Horres. Visitation will follow the service in the church Family Life Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church Family Life Center, P.O. Box 279, Pauline, SC 29374. The family is at the home of her grandson, Jeff Casey, 260 Yard Road, Glenn Springs.
