Nancy Young

Nancy Barnett Young, 72, of Spartanburg, died Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born September 4, 1942 in Cherokee County, SC. She was the daughter of the late Louis Henry and Sara Louise Gentry Barnett. Nancy was a member of Southside Baptist Church and was a secretary at Clifdale Elementary School. She was a flight attendant and a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Surviving are her loving husband of 50 years, Horace T. Young of the home; sons, Kenneth Ryan Young of Spartanburg; Jeffrey David (Mindee) Young of Woodstock, GA; and daughter, Jill Young of Spartanburg; grandsons, Thomas and Ryan Young; and beloved cousin, Linda Scruggs of Gaffney, SC. She leaves behind her fur babies, Jack and Albert. She was predeceased by a brother, Tommy Barnett. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by her cousin, Mr. John George. Visitation will follow services at graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
