Nancy White

Nancy “Doll” White, 82, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born April 1, 1940, in Bartley, West Virginia, Mrs. White was the daughter of Oma Jane McIntosh and Mastin Harvey Christian.

Mrs. White loved her family and was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a pediatric nurse for most of her career and volunteered at Mobile Meals in her retirement. She loved to have lunch with her friends and play Bunco. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church for over 50 years, and she loved her church and the people there.

She was married to Bob White for 53 years until his death in 2015. They both loved to entertain and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling anywhere, especially to the family home at Lake Greenwood. She enjoyed going out to lunch with her friends and going to church. She loved and spoiled her dog, Elvis, who was her constant companion and guard dog.

Surviving are her daughter, Jane White Brown, and grandson, Robert Christian Wood, both of Moore; Nieces Christine Tedesco (Rob Silance) of Clemson and Marlynna Haas (Michael) who have been there for this journey; Brothers, Robert Christian (Teresa) of Huntersville, NC, Tom Christian of LaGrange, and a host of nieces and nephews, all over the country, whom she adored and loved to keep in touch with.

Mrs. White was pre-deceased by her husband, Robert “Bob” Bruce White; son, Richard Bruce White, sisters, Amy Tedesco, Florence Laxton (Amos), and Pauline Frazier (Elmer); Brothers Ellis Christian (Dixie), Everett Christian (Elouise), Larry Christian (Wilda) and David Christian (Carolyn).

Visitation will be Saturday, February 4, 2023, 9:00-10:00 AM, at Bethel United Methodist Church Parlor, 245 S. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC, 29306. Funeral service will follow in the Sanctuary conducted by the Rev. Brad Gray and Rev. Megan Gray. Burial will be at Westwood Memorial Gardens, 6101 Reidville Road, Moore, SC, 29369.
