Nancy Johnson

Nancy Stevens Johnson, 87, of Roebuck, SC, died Sunday, November 20, 2022 at her home. Born August 5, 1935 in Henderson County, NC, she was the daughter of Paul and Elizabeth Coggins Stevens and the wife of the late Harold Smith Johnson.

Nancy graduated Cross Anchor High School and Spartanburg Regional LPN School. She was retired from Spartanburg Medical Center after serving over 12 years as a LPN. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Wayne T. Johnson of Pauline, SC and Joel W. Johnson (Tammy) of Roebuck, SC; her grandchildren, Jeremy Johnson (Laura) of Pauline, SC, Meghan Ezell (Jake) of Spartanburg, SC, Bennett Johnson of Pauline, SC, and Andrew Johnson of Roebuck, SC; great grandchildren, Fletcher Johnson, William Ezell and Oaklee Ezell; sister, Thelma Chism of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, Albert “Jim” Stevens (Jan) of Union, SC and Bobby Stevens (Marie) of Woodruff, SC; along with several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Cecil Stevens, Pauline Gilreath, Leon Stevens, Leonard Stevens, and Ronnie Stevens.

Visitation will be 1:30 – 2:30 pm Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Philadelphia Baptist Church, 3119 Hwy. 56, Pauline, SC 29374. Funeral service will be at 3:00 pm at the church, conducted by The Rev. Kyle Owings and The Rev. Jimmy Farmer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Philadelphia Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 220, Pauline, SC 29374 or to a charity of one’s choice.
