Nancy Bowen Foster, 80, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Emeritus at Skylyn Place. Born October 1, 1932, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Cason and Inez Tinsley Bowen, and widow of Harold Benjamin Foster. A graduate of Mars Hill College, Mrs. Foster was also a member of Morningside Baptist Church, the Emory Thomas Sunday School Class, and retired from the Social Security Administration after 20 years of service. She was co-owner and bookkeeper with Foster's Garden Center, a volunteer for Mobile Meals Service, and member of Zonta International. She loved square dancing, cross-stitch, and water skiing and watersports at Lake William C. Bowen. Surviving are her children, Ann Viehman (Rick) of Tryon, NC, and Michael W. Foster of Inman, SC; grandchildren, Megan Viehman of Tryon, NC, and William S. Foster of Columbia, SC; a brother, Robert Nolan Bowen of Denver CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 PM Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Foster's Garden Center, 2705 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Mrs. Foster's Sunday School class will serve as honorary escort.
