Myrtle Simmons

Myrtle "Gayle" Woody Simmons of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, January 13, 2018 at home, with her loving family at her side. She was the daughter of the late Robert Tillman Woody, Sr. and Connie P. Woody. Gayle was a member of Fairforest Baptist Church, New Beginnings Sunday School class. She was retired from Springs Industries. Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Albert Simmons; son, Curtis R. Simmons (Erlene) of Gray Court, SC; daughter, Connie S. Wilson (Lamar) of Spartanburg, SC; three grandchildren, Danielle Holt (Issac) of New Orleans, LA; Graylon "Cole" Wilson of Spartanburg, SC; Rebecca Martin (Thomas) of Laurens, SC; brother, Richard Woody (Virginia) of Boiling Springs, SC; sister, Vicki Page (Steve) of Ninety-Six, SC; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by a brother, Robert Tillman Woody, Jr. Visitation will be 1:00 - 2:30 PM, Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Fairforest Baptist Church, 115 Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29301. Graveside service will follow 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in the church cemetery, conducted by the Rev. James C. Hilton.
