Myrtle I. Peeler Knox, 74, of Pacolet Mills, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at her home. Born June 18, 1936, in Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Rufus and Macie Ramsey Peeler, and wife of the late Billy Dean Knox. Mrs. Knox was a member of Abbingdon Creek Baptist Church in Gaffney, and retired from Milliken & Company. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Hughes and husband Mike; a son, Gary Knox and wife Cindy; nine grandchildren, Lance, Brandon, Ashley, Destiny, Madison, Misty, Kaisha, Kiara, and Garrett; four great-grandchildren, Clayton, Makenzee, Kaylee, and Jayla; two sisters, Athleen Owens, and Carolyn Hames and husband Darwin; a daughter-in-law, Judy Knox; and she dearly loved all her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Mike Knox. Visitation will be 1:00-2:30 PM Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM in Pacolet Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Ralph Jett. The family is at the home, 152 Moore St., Pacolet Mills, SC 29373.
