Myrtle Brewington

Myrtle Ellen Henderson Brewington, 91, of Spartanburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 20, 2014, at her home. Born May 19, 1922, in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Jeffery Leonard and Pauline Easler Henderson, and wife for 45 years, of the late James Weldon Brewington. She attended Encounter Church in Gaffney, SC. Among survivors are her children, Sue Gardner, Johnny Frye, and Robert Frye, all of Spartanburg, SC, and Lonnie Bill Frye (Kathy) of Arcadia, SC; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Dupre Henderson of Spartanburg, SC, and Louie Henderson of Newberry, SC; sister, Mary Duke of Florida; and special caregiver, Lillie Smith of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Luanne Frye; and brothers, Ray, Joe, and Jack Henderson. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 23, 2014, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by Mr. Earl Brownlee.
