Myra Finch McMackin, 87, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at her home. Born January 2, 1927, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late James C. and Aileen Gwinn Finch, and widow of Linwood F. McMackin. Mrs. McMackin was retired from Spartanburg General Hospital and a member of Ben Avon United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Chris Hogan of Spartanburg; grandsons, Michael Hogan (Alena), Mac Hogan (Anne Elizabeth), and Matthew Hogan (Sarah), all of Spartanburg; great-grandchildren, Coleman Lynn Hogan, Hudson Lee Hogan, Elizabeth Grace Hogan, Lucas McMackin Hogan, Caroline Jane Hogan, and Emily Anne Hogan; aunts, Catherine Henderson and Virginia O'Sullivan, both of Spartanburg, and Imogene McElrath of Hemingway, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, James Lynn McMackin; son-in-law, Michael H. Hogan; brother, James C. Finch; and sister, Betty F. Anderson. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, December 12, 2014, in Pacolet Memorial Gardens, 141 Memorial Dr., Pacolet, SC 29372, by the Rev. Jack Dodds. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Home Hospice, 120 Heywood Avenue Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
