Ms. Agnes Wood

Ms. Wood, 92, wife of the late James Marvin Wood of Spartanburg, passed away May 31, 2013 at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills. Ms. Wood was born in 1920 to the late Tom and Annie Millwood Waltrip of Spartanburg. She was retired from Spartan Mills after 35 years of service. She was a member of Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church where she was a member of the Heaven Bound Sunday School Class, the Young at Heart and Ladies Prayer Breakfast Club. Ms. Wood was a long time resident of Wesley Court Assisted Living prior to being admitted to Mary Black Hospital then on to Mountainview Nursing Home in January 2013 and Hospice in May 2013. She is survived by a daughter Pat Mason (Ralph) of Spartanburg; a son Ronnie Wood of Boiling Springs; sisters, Inez Waltrip of Spartanburg; Lois Ford of Columbia, SC; Louis Nixon of Cincinnati, OH; four grandchildren, Cathy Marlowe (Scott) of Boiling Springs, SC; Wanda Leslie of Spartanburg; Darren Mason (Jada) of Gaffney, SC; Jason Wood of Moore, SC.; ten great-grandchildren, Caleb (Melissa) and Levi (Tanya) Marlowe, Christopher and Haley Crowe, Hannah Leslie, Chelsy McCallister, Emily, Addyson and Gavin Mason and Jason Wood, Jr. and two great-great-grandchildren Tinsley Marlowe and Jaiden Grate. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:45 PM on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307 with services following at 3:00 PM in the chapel conducted by the Rev. Dr. D. J. Horton. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be the Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church Heaven Bound Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church Building Fund, 4455 Anderson Mill Road, Moore, SC 29369 or to the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 260 Fairwinds Road, Landrum, SC 29356 The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff and volunteers of the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills and their truly kind hearts and loving care toward Ms. Wood and family members.
