Mrs. Robbie Belser

Robbie Johnson Belser, 89, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, April 25, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born July 6, 1924, in Garfield, GA, she spent her adult life in Jacksonville, FL, where as a USO volunteer she met her husband, James Belser, a World War II naval pilot. She will be remembered for her ability to give unconditional love, her wisdom, kindness, and gentle spirit. Survivors include her daughter, Judy Belser Kizer (David) of Inman, SC; her son, James Belser, Jr. (Selena) of Pulaski, NY; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two nieces and her dedicated caregivers. Mrs. Belser was predeceased by her husband, James Belser of Jacksonville, FL; parents, J. Robbie and Madee Johnson of Garfield, GA; a brother, Delmas Johnson and sister-in-law, Betty Johnson, also of Garfield, GA. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 29, 2014, in Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery, Augusta Rd., Garfield, GA 30425.
