Mrs. Evelyn Carr

Evelyn Catherine Mooneyham Carr, 92, of Spartanburg and formerly of Roebuck , SC and Mason Manor Apartments, joined her children in the arms of the Lord, Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Valley Falls Terrace. Born July 2, 1922 in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Katherine Acuff Mooneyham, and wife of the late, Norman G. Carr. Mrs. Carr retired from Mayfair Mills and was also employed with Belk. She was a long time member of Canaan Baptist Church and then attended Harvest Baptist Church. Survivors include her granddaughters, Lisa Case, Denise Smith, Laurie Mahaffey (Steve) and Janet Vinson; grandsons, Larry Smith Jr., Scott Connell (Tammy), Eric Gallman (Janet) and Mike Smith Jr.; 12 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Elaine Gallman; sons, Michael Smith and Larry Smith, and granddaughter, Doris Maddox. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306, conducted by Rev. Terry McMillian. Visitation will follow the service at the Chapel. The family will be at their respective homes.
