Mr. Seth Harris

Seth D. Harris, 87, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Eden Terrace. He was born on November 14, 1925 in Spartanburg and was the son of the late Ernest and Martha Jones Harris and husband of the late Hester Burgess Harris. He was a retired electrician with J. Frank Blakely Electrical Contractors. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a member of the Layman's Sunday School Class. He is survived by a daughter, Mildred Harris Knox Taylor and her husband Wayne of Moore, SC; a son, James (Buddy) Pack and his wife, Toby of North Augusta, GA; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a sister, Irene Gilbert of Travelers Rest, SC. Mr. Harris was predeceased by a son, William (Billy) Ernest Harris; a son-in-law, David L. Knox; a daughter-in-law, Doris Pack and a granddaughter, Cassandra P. Wood. Funeral services be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC, conducted by Dr. Herbert Garrett. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will follow from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Honorary Escort will be members of the Layman's Sunday School Class.
