Mrs. Edna Morgan Bussey Boney, 94, of Spartanburg, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Park Place Assisted Living in Spartanburg. Born October 10, 1919, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Lyon and George Euelia Dorn Bussey and widow of the love of her life James Cassels Boney Sr. Mrs. Boney a devoted Christian, was a lifelong resident of Spartanburg and a faithful member of Morningside Baptist Church and the Lydia Sunday School Class. Edna, a graduate of Furman University, taught school and retired from SC School for the Deaf and Blind. She enjoyed playing bridge, doing crossword puzzles and reading her Bible. She was a wonderful mother and a true Southern lady. Survivors include two sons, Ralph E. Boney, and wife Gail, of Spartanburg, Robert H. Boney of Columbia, SC; daughter-in-law, Terry V. Boney of Bigfork, MT; grandchildren, Laura B. Mosman of Charlotte, NC, Susan B. Hill of Bigfork, MT, Stephanie Boney of Columbia, SC, Edward Boney of Athens, GA and Heather Boney of Blythewood, SC; great grandchildren, Trevor and Lily Hill, Parker Johnson and Caroline Mosman. She was predeceased by her oldest son, James C. Boney Jr., and two brothers, Joe L. Bussey and Roy A. Bussey. Visitation will be held from 5:00-6:30 PM on Friday, August 15, 2014, in the Welcome Center at Morningside Baptist Church following a private interment. Memorials may be made to Morningside Baptist Church, 897 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family is at the home of the son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Gail Boney.
