Mrs. Dorothy Cannon

Dorothy "Dot" Sowell Cannon, 64, of 55 Arbours West Lane, died Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born on July 24, 1946 in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Heyward Rochelle and Leila Burnett Sowell and was a loyal member of St. James United Methodist Church. Mrs. Cannon is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Ronald H. Cannon; her daughter, Lisa Cannon Grant and her husband, David of Greenwood, SC; her son, Ronald Keith Cannon and his wife, Emily of Gilbert, AZ; her grandchildren, Mary Beth and Katherine Grant, Carley, Nathan, Ellie and Trevor Cannon; and her brother, Joel Sowell and his wife, Luda of Riverside, CA. She was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela Christine Cannon and her sister, Leila "Polly" Meese. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A graveside service will follow the visitation at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Will Malambri. In remembrance of Mrs. Cannon, memorial contributions may be made to St. James United Methodist Church Building Fund, 213 Lanford Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
