Molly Duerksen

Molly Doyle Duerksen, 90, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born May 10, 1931, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Sarah Doyle and the widow of her beloved husband Rudolph “Rudy” Duerksen.

Mrs. Duerksen was a long time member of Nazareth Presbyterian Church, Moore, SC. She was a secretary for various firms and retired from McCarthy Teszler School.

Survivors include her sons, Peter Lloyd Alexander Duerksen (Debra) of Raleigh, NC,  Ricky Steven Duerksen (Jayne), and Kirk Anthony Duerksen (Shelley) all of Spartanburg, SC; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean Tarras of Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada and many cherished nieces and nephews also in Ontario, Canada. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Trudy Duerksen Richey; son, Christopher Arthur Duerksen; brothers, Larry Doyle and Jimmy Doyle; and son-in-law Michael Dennis Richey.

The family would like to thank everyone with Spartanburg Regional Hospice and especially Cindy and Gabby who provided excellent care, love, emotional support and friendship to us through this journey. We are forever grateful!

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Nazareth Presbyterian Church, 680 Nazareth Church Road, Moore, SC 29369, with visitation and reception immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chris Duerksen Memorial Scholarship Fund, C/O Spartanburg Community College, P.O. Box 4386, Spartanburg, SC 29305.
