Lillian Molene Lamm Childers, 94, of Spartanburg, died Sunday evening, July 16, 2023, at her home. She was born June 24, 1929, in Landrum, SC, a daughter of the late Andrew Earl and Lillian Gertrude Wolfe Lamm. Molene was married to the late Ray Leon Childers for 71 years.
Molene was a member of First Baptist Church-Spartanburg. She was one of the founding members of the Christian Woman's Club and was a member of Ladies Frist Thursday and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed her time volunteering for Mobile Meals and Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
She attended the Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, GA.
Surviving are her daughter, Cathie Childers Cheatham; her granddaughter, Caroline Hood and her husband, Curtis, whom she loved dearly for all of his love and care; her great-granddaughter, Lillian Grace Hood; and her brother, James Ray Lamm. Molene was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Earl Lamm and Dr. Ronald Max Lamm.
The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2023, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Robert C. Morgan and the Rev. Brian Redding. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
