Moira Allan Ferguson, 82, of Laurinburg, NC, died Friday, January 29, 2021 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born March 29, 1938 in Motherwell, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Filomena Verrecchia Allan. Young Moira immigrated to America in 1956 as an 18-year-old to begin her new life, but always cherished and longed for her loving family in Scotland. She valued her Italian heritage as we would reminisce about her Verrecchia family. Moira was a devoted wife, mother, Gran and great Gran. She instilled values of faith, family, hard work, perseverance and most of all, love. She will be remembered for her kind heart, compassion, love of music (Perry Como), her cooking and especially for the love for her family around the world. Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, John "Ian" Ferguson; daughters, Debra Ferguson of Greenville, SC; Diane Pleasant (Scott) of Boiling Springs, SC; Laura Paulus (Gary) of Ocala, FL; Melody Williams (Brenton) of Adelaide, South Australia; grandchildren, Heather, Alex, Kellie-Rose, Alexis, Brittany, Blake, Jamie, John, and Derrick (predeceased); great grandchildren, Tyler, Caleb, Madyson, Zayden, Gabriel, Wyatt, Ian, Carleigh, Brooklyn, Kaelyn, Macon, Hunley, Peyton, Lachlan, and Aubrey; sisters, Rose Laidlaw (predeceased), Anne Nugent of Port Perry, Ontario, Canada, Fil Allan of Bellshill, Scotland; brothers, Alexander Allan (predeceased), Jim Allan of Bellshill, Scotland, Ronnie Allan of Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada, and Gordon Allan (predeceased); many nieces and nephews in Scotland, England, Canada and France, and her wee dog, Otis. The family will have a private remembrance ceremony to pay their respects and honor Moira's life. The family is at the home of Debra Ferguson, 1054 Summit Drive, Greenville, SC.
