Mittie "Jimmie" Rebecca Coates Blake Putman, 88, formerly of Fernwood-Glendale Road, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at White Oak Manor. Born November 12, 1920, in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Leanna Baber Coates. She was first married to the late Charles E. Blake and then to the late Grady J. Putman. She was retired from Prym-Dritz and a member of Ben Avon United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir, UMW, and Happy Hearts Club. She was a volunteer with Mobile Meals. Survivors include a daughter, Deborah B. Amick and her husband Robert of Spartanburg; a son, Steve Blake of West Columbia; three grandchildren, Chris Amick, Todd Amick and his wife April, and Brooks Amick; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Charlton, and Hannah and Taylor Amick; a sister, Leanna McConnell and her husband Jeff of Spartanburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Irene Sisk and Lillian Coates. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2009, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Larry Hyder. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, P. O.
