Miriam Lowry

Miriam Vassy Lowry, 100, of 228 Connecticut Avenue, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at her home. Born September 29, 1911, in Wilkinsville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Philip S. and Macie Eula Vassy Lowry. Miriam retired as an insurance administrator for Life of Georgia in 1977, having served for 35 years, and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Lanell Lowry of Spartanburg; a number of nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, John David Lowry and Philip S. Lowry, Jr.; sisters, Carolyn Lowry Harrison and Gladys Lowry Coleman; and a nephew, Richard Brady Lowry. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 29, 2012, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, by the Rev. David E. Nichols.
