Minnie "Mickie" Cox

Minnie “Mickie” Laura Casey Cox, 84, of Spartanburg, SC died Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at her home. Born March 6, 1937 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert James Casey and Tressie Compton Casey.

Mrs. Cox was a lifelong member of El Bethel United Methodist Church where she served on multiple committees and boards, was treasurer for many years and enjoyed being with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Fred W. Cox; sons, Roger Cox of Spartanburg, SC and Randy Cox (Rachel) of Clemson, SC; grandchildren, Joel Cox (Heather) of Greer, SC, Sophie Cox and Toby Cox both of Clemson, SC; great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Klaire and Kamrey Cox all of Greer, SC; step-grandchildren, Leslie Carruth and Lauren Carruth-Cruz both of Inman, SC; sister, Judith Bishop (JD) of Spartanburg, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Robert James Casey Jr., Michael Casey, and Ronnie Casey.

Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, June 27, 2021, in the Chapel by The Rev. Jack Caldwell and The Rev. Tommy Hill. Burial will be in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, 790 Highway 417, Moore, SC 29369.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to El Bethel United Methodist Church, 820 S. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
