Minnie Pruitt

July 21, 1927 — May 30, 2014

Minnie Lee Senn Pruitt, 86, was at her home when she left our world and went to be with the Lord and her beloved family on Friday, May 30, 2014. Born July 21, 1927, in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Mabun Riddle Senn and George C. Senn and wife of the late Clarence D. Pruitt for 57 years. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Her faith in God sustained her through her entire life and never, ever wavered. Minnie was of the Methodist faith and was a lifetime member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church where she was active in the Ladies Circle, Young at Heart Club, and many other activities of the church until it closed. She also helped with the startup of New Beginnings UMC in Boiling Springs where she was one of the six families that opened their homes for the first church services before they were able to build the church building. She transferred her membership to Central UMC where she was a member of the Norton Class. Her family loved her cooking and will always remember her "bic bics", fudge, and macaroni and cheese pie. Family get-togethers at her home were always welcome and everyone looked forward to her smiling face and big hugs she always shared. She leaves behind her daughter, Donna P. Corbin and son-in-law, Gary W. Corbin of Pacolet, SC; two grandchildren, Matt Davis (Leigh) of Boiling Springs and April (James) of Pacolet; eight great-grandchildren, Katie, Emily, Matthew, John Paul, Sarah Grace, Camden, Canyon, and Kamari; nephews, Eric Senn (Cindy) of Columbia, SC; Kim Senn (Judy) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Conrad A Senn (Christy) of Greer, SC; and a niece, Carolyn Brown (Richie) of Buffalo, SC. She also leaves behind her friend and companion, Willie Henson of Roebuck, SC, who held a very special place in Minnie's heart. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Jerri Lynn Shropshire, and her brother, George "Bud" Senn. The family expresses a special thanks for Marie Dorrell who loved and took care of Mom for three years and her granddaughter April who loved and cared for Mom the last days of her life and never left until she took her last breath. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 PM on Monday, June 2, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Graveside services, conducted by the Rev. C. Allen Senn and Mr. Matt Davis, will follow at 2:30 PM at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family is at their respective homes.
