Minnie Pace

Minnie Lou Hodge Pace, 90, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum. Born February 8, 1921, in Pacolet Mills, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Thelma Bessie Harrold Hodge. Mrs. Pace was a member of Montgomery Memorial United Methodist Church and retired from Spartanburg Regional Hospital as Director of the Nurse Residents. Survivors include her grandson, Phillip Lynwood Pace, Jr. of Oxford, GA; a brother, Jimmy Hodge of Marietta, GA; a sister, Jean Smith of Greenville; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Phillip Lynwood Pace, Sr., and a brother, Olin Hodge. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Kelly Gallamore. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Mr. Michael Hodge, Mr. Thomas Hodge, Mr. Johnny Hodge, Mr. Don Sinclair, Mr. Tony Hodge, and Mr. Dee Hodge. A reception will follow the services at Montgomery Memorial United Methodist Church, 160 Stone St., Pacolet Mills, SC 29373. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Montgomery Memorial United Methodist Church, PO Box 427, Pacolet Mills, SC 29373; or the Hospice Home of the Carolina Foothills (Smith-Phayer), 260 Fairwinds Rd., PO Box 127, Landrum, SC 29356.
