Mina Cathcart

Mina Elizabeth Ayers Cathcart, 76, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Westside Living Center in Greenville, SC. Born March 4, 1934, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Erie Preston Ayers, Sr. and Bessie Scott Ayers. She was a former executive secretary with Butte Knit and Olympia Mills. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband, Thomas R. Cathcart; a son, Steve Kellett of Spartanburg; three step-children, Lynne Coggins Cathcart of Memphis, TN, Theresa "Terry" Galloway of Spartanburg, and Paul Thomas Cathcart of Pacolet; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Betty Jean Hudson of Spartanburg. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Chuck Thornton. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. No flowers please. The family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 901 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family is at their respective homes.
