Milton R. Tant, 76, of Spartanburg, SC passed away on September 29, 2022, at Mountainview Nursing Home. Born September 30, 1945, in Easley, SC to the late Ernest Eugene and Mary Nell Bagwell Tant, he was married to Melinda Jean Price Tant.
Milton was an avid Clemson football and Braves baseball fan. A passionate advocate for the blind, he was President of the National Federation for the Blind for many years and was Chairman for the Blind License Vendors. Milton was also a past President of Florence Evenings Lions Club.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Schmidt of Florida, Carol Turner (Keith) of Spartanburg, and Cindy Helms of Spartanburg; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Tant (Carolyn) of Simpsonville; and sisters, Myrtice Toney (Fred) of Lilburn, GA and Brenda Page (John) of St. Simons Island, GA. He was predeceased by his parents.
Visitation will be 1:00 – 1:45 PM on Monday, October 3, 2022, at the graveside in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, conducted by the Rev. Benny Bagwell.
