Mildred Strange Springs, 90, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, September 21, 2018, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born October 24, 1927, in the Walnut Grove community of Roebuck, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lammie H. Strange and Lannie Taylor Strange and widow of William Dale Springs. A graduate of Roebuck High School, Mrs. Springs retired as secretary of West View Elementary School. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church and the Young At Heart Sunday School Class. Survivors include her brother, Dudley Strange (Vicky) of Spartanburg, SC; sisters-in-law, Patricia Lawson of Buffalo, SC, Linda Scott (Dan) of Simpsonville, SC, and Judy Garner of Union, SC; brother-in-law, Wayne Springs (Connie) of Union, SC; nieces and nephews, Dianne King (Wayne), Ray Harrison (Linda), Teri Strange (Bob), Ronnie Strange (Millie), and Lori Barwick (Nick); great-nieces and nephews, Brandi Spratt, Sara Strange, Bailey Barwick, Brad Harrison, Phillip Harrison, and Bodey Barwick. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Harrison Hill. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 AM Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church with funeral services following at 11:30 AM, conducted by The Rev. Richard M. Thomas and The Rev. Dr. B. E. Pettit. Committal will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 1399 Walnut Grove Road, Roebuck, SC 29376.
