Mildred Painter

Mildred Cleo Harris Painter, 83, of Spartanburg, died Monday, February 13, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born September 12, 1928, in Polk County, White Oak Township, NC, she was the daughter of the late John Jade Hicks Harris and Mamie Fowler Harris, and wife, for 57 years, of the late John Eugene Painter. Mrs. Painter was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg and was employed as a bookkeeper for over 30 years. Survivors include her daughter, Marsha E. Painter of Spartanburg; son, Douglas Painter and wife Rhonda of Spartanburg; granddaughters, Stacey and Amy Painter, both of Spartanburg; sisters, Kathleen Harris of Melbourne, FL, and Marie Head of Valdese, NC; brothers, Curtis Harris of Columbus, NC, and Robert Harris of Arden, NC. She was predeceased by her sister, Shirley Wallace; and her loving kitty, Mimi Painter. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, February 17, 2012, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, by the Rev. Sal Barone.
