Mildred Lydia

Mildred Madie Bailey Lydia, 80, of Inman, SC, died Thursday, August 22, 2013, at Golden Age Nursing Home. Born December 1, 1932, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Arthur and Madie Viola Honbarger Bailey, and widow of Edward Eugene Lyda. She was of the Freewill Baptist faith. Survivors include her children, Virginia Kreuzer (Roger), Gerald Lyda (Margaret), all of Spartanburg, SC, Ronald Lyda of Duncan, SC, and Cathy Dogan (Win) of Mary Esther, FL; granddaughters, Regina, Christina, Pam, Chas, Jaime, and Kayla; grandsons, Michael and Wesley; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Myrtle Beavers of Inman, SC; and brother, Billy Bailey of Chesnee, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a daughter, Elaine Suttles; and grandsons, Jerry Lyda and Wally Lyda. Visitation will be 10:00-11:30 AM Sunday, August 25, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 noon, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by Chaplain Kelly Belcher. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 260 Fairwinds Road, Landrum, SC 29356. The family is at their respective homes.
