Mildred Hopper

Mildred Harmon Hopper, 93, of Cowpens, died Sunday morning, December 30, 2012, at Rosecrest of Inman. Mrs. Hopper was born August 30, 1919 in Inman, SC, a daughter of the late T. B. and Lillian Settle Harmon and she was the widow of Arthur Guyan Hopper, Sr. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church of Cowpens and retired teacher from Spartanburg School District 3 after 42 years of service. Surviving are her daughter, Ann Hopper Stapleton and her husband, Randy, of Inman; her son, Arthur Guyan Hopper, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl of Cowpens; and her grandchildren, Arthur Guyan "Trey" Hopper, III and Caroline Elisabeth Hopper, both of Cowpens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Salem United Methodist Church, 5425 North Main Street, Cowpens, SC 29330. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary, conducted by the Rev. John Howle. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family suggests that memorials be made to Salem United Methodist Church General Fund, P. O. Box 160, Cowpens, SC 29330.
